Borah Team Achieves $2 Million Milestone!

The Chad Borah team made Pillar To Post history by achieving $2 Million in Sales in October, the first of any franchise to accomplish this mark. Congratulations to the team for reaching this outstanding milestone! Rare Earthquake Hits Close To Our Alaska Franchisees

Last Friday there was a 7.0 earthquake in Anchorage, Alaska but luckily our franchisees, Jamie Brough and Bob Vautour and families had no injuries and they are doing fine. Regional Director Melissa Schmitt reported that they made it though a good minute or so of strong shaking and deafening noise plus having more aftershocks and one registering a 5.8 on the Richter Scale.

Bob and Jamie are now back out in the area doing inspections and helping their communities get back on track. With the aftermath of the earthquake, there were calls to their businesses to inspect properties where homeowners were concerned about potential damage.

Jared Fenn Franchise Celebrates 15 Years In Business

Congratulations to Jared Fenn of Orem, UT who has been a franchise partner for 12 years, but as a transfer, his Pillar To Post franchise has been in operation for 15 years. Jared said from day one he wanted to run his own business and when there was an opportunity to buy the business he seized it. One of the early things he learned was that "relationships are 40% of the business." Early on, his realtor visits consisted of 35 offices which he delivered homebaked cookies every other week.

These days, Jared has three inspectors working for him and he takes pride in delivering a high standard of brand experience to customers with consistent reports and customer service. "If all of our team members went on different days to the same client they would get the same consistent quality from us," he says. "For me, one-third is providing a good inspection, one-third is reporting and the other one-third is your presentation to the client. You have to carry these parts equally and be careful with your words so you don't scare your clients."

Every home has a fix he says, recalling that he talked his brother into buying a former meth house because the value of the house and property was high compared to the price of fixing the home. "It's important for the clients to know what the problems are up front and the significance of the issues - then they can see what is right for them."

The cookies have been replaced with chocolate truffles and these days Jared is doing more Continuing Education classes with agents which is a big part of his marketing. As a State Certified CE instructor, he gives out about 500-700 CE credits to agents each year. This is a great foot in the door for new agents and offices."

Roger Rygg Makes the "A" List in Maple Ridge, BC

Congratulations to Roger Rygg, BC who was voted the "Favorite Home Inspector Business" in Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows by news readers of the local newspaper. Along with bragging rights, the newspaper presented him with a "A" List certificate to use for marketing purposes.

Mike Davis, IL Strikes Hall Of Fame Honors

We have a Bowling Hall of Famer among us. Earlier this month, Mike Davis, IL was was honored among eight bowlers into the Peoria River City Association's Hall of Fame. Mike now has 17 perfect games to go along with seven 800 series (high of 828). He has a high career average of 231 and has won a singles state title and a National Doubles Tournament title with his brother Brian. Congratulations!

Paula Camarena, CA Launches Her Business

Paula Camarena, of Orange County, CA has launched her business. Paula has an MBA and a successful career in technical sales for top companies like Cisco and Verizon, but she wants more, a legacy to leave her son. She has been further inspired by a friend who left a top company, bought a franchise and is encouraging to find her fit. Other friends and family, knowing her great networking skills were pushing her towards real estate sales, but that didn't feel like a good fit to her, home inspection does. She loves what she calls our "business in a box".
