Stephen Tucker, a retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Apache helicopter pilot, has announced the opening of his new business, as part of the Pillar To Post Home Inspectors network, the largest home inspection franchise in North America, and will serve homebuyers and sellers in Beaumont, Port Author and Orange throughout Hardin, Jefferson, Orange, Newton, Jasper, and Tyler counties.
Tucker, a Little Cypress resident, brings a wealth of experience to his new venture. After a successful 20- year career in the U.S. Army, where he served as an Apache helicopter pilot and Chinook helicopter crew chief, repairer, and inspector, Tucker worked for Northrup Grumman. His military service and subsequent career honed his attention to detail, safety, and quality output, skills that he believes will be invaluable in his new role as a home inspector.
The decision to open a Pillar To Post Home Inspectors franchise came after Tucker was laid off due to the Air Force retiring the JSTARS. Rather than seeing this as a setback, Tucker viewed it as an opportunity to follow his dreams and start his own business. He was drawn to Pillar To Post because of its high ratings among veteran-owned franchises, its high-quality standards, and its innovative tools, systems, and processes.
"I quickly realized Pillar To Post would be the perfect partner for me to continue my passion for quality control and ensuring safety standards are being met through my home inspections," said Tucker. "Being able to drive my own schedule was very attractive to me as well. During my military career and later working different shifts, I didn't have much personal time with my family. I knew my flexible schedule would benefit all of us."
According to a 2023 survey by Clever Real Estate, a "find a real estate agent❞ website, 72 percent of homebuyers from 2020-2022 have regrets over their home purchase. The most common factors that contributed to their remorse were spending too much money and rushing into buying.
And there are some other important considerations to mull in addition to a home's square footage and number of bathrooms. Clever's survey also found that almost half of homebuyers - 43 percent - made financial concessions like waiving a home inspection amid fierce competition for homes, according to CNBC. And skipping that home inspection can be costly. A survey from insurance firm Hippo found that most homeowners - 77 percent - had to pay for an unexpected repair within the first year of owning a house.
"I'm looking forward to helping homebuyers make the best decision and gain peace of mind," says Tucker. For Information visit thetuckerteam.pillartopost.com or call 409-405-3000.
