Pillar to Post branch owner Norman McBee is excited to help folks buy, sell homes.
Longtime residential construction worker and Gresham resident Norman McBee has just opened his branch of Pillar to Post Home Inspectors in East County.
Born in Portland, McBee has returned to Oregon after moving around the states as a residential construction worker and contractor.
"I am really excited to be back in Oregon and to move to Gresham," McBee said. "This area is such a great gateway to so many outdoor places."
Although McBee is excited to explore the natural beauties of East County, he is even more thrilled to open his branch of Pillar to Post and help folks with their home buying or selling needs.
"I have been in residential construction all of my life. I really got started by helping out my foster dad remodel homes back when I was just a kid," McBee said. "I have always had a hand in construction."
McBee said his years of experience in construction have helped him understand the ins and outs of inspection. "Remodeling dives into so many different areas of the house, like roofing, electrical and so many others," McBee said. "Now that I am older and can't do some of the work that I did, I can use all of those skills through inspecting."
One of the reasons McBee chose Pillar to Post Home Inspectors was because they have been the standard in home inspection.
"Home inspection hasn't been around for long time, but Pillar to Post has really defined what an inspector should be," McBee said. "They basically wrote the book."
He also said Pillar to Post has been at the forefront of innovation in the industry and has added new technology that has made the process a lot easier and efficient.
"We can now take 360-degree photos that allow for people to virtually walk through homes," McBee said.
With his branch of Pillar to Post: East Portland officially open for business, McBee said he is ready to help the cities of East County, Sandy, Boring and all towns east of Sandy along Highway 26 to the Clackamas County border.
